The Tata Punch EV has been spotted testing again, and interestingly, it now gets new alloy wheels and has new interior bits.

    1. Tata Punch EV to also get a 360-degree camera
    2. Will rival Citroen eC3, MG Comet
    3. Punch EV will get disc brakes on all wheels

The spy shots suggest that the Punch EV will get a different design for the alloy wheels compared to the ICE-powered Punch. The new test mules of the electric Punch will get a five-spoke design, whereas older ones had the same design as the ICE punch. The new test car has also been spotted with rear disc brakes again.

Tata Punch EV interior and features

Inside, the biggest change in the Punch EV is likely to be Tata Motors’ new two-spoke steering wheel, first showcased on the Curvv Concept and also seen on the upcoming Nexon facelift’s test mules. This steering wheel will get an illuminated logo in the centre and haptic touch controls.

The Punch EV will also get a 360-degree camera, as the images show camera modules on the wing mirrors. Currently, only the Harrier and Safari get a 360-degree camera in Tata Motors’ line-up.

Previous spy shots of the Punch EV have showed that it will get a rotary drive selector, and, possibly, even an electronic parking brake, as on the Nexon EV Max.

The Punch EV’s test mule is visible with the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system – same as the ICE version – and it remains to be seen if Tata Motors will add its new 10.25-inch touchscreen to the Punch.

    Tata Punch EV powertrain

As we've reported before, the Punch EV is likely to use Tata Motors’ Ziptron powertrain that has a liquid-cooled battery with a permanent magnet synchronous motor powering the front wheels. However, the exact battery and electric motor specifications are not known yet. The manufacturer could also offer multiple battery pack options to appeal to a wider audience, as it already does on the Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Nexon EV.

Tata Punch EV launch timeline, rivals

The Punch EV is could be launched this festive season, and would rival the Citroen eC3 (Rs 11.50 lakh-12.43 lakh) and the MG Comet (Rs 7.78 lakh-9.98 lakh).
